FACEBOOK FRIENDS.

We have so many face book friends,
tell of their daily trials
to live a normal life,
and make amends for all the things
they should have done before
real life got in the way.

They pour out all the problems
that they face every day,
from what to eat for breakfast
to where to find a way
to find a bond with other souls
poked along the way,

All the things they published
in photo albums, incredulously big,
and all the links found on the internet
that they really dig.

It seems to me that conversation
has become a dying art,
the internet has taken over
as a way of taking part
in what we once knew as friendship
in forgotten days gone by,
when people met for real
in places that exist.

This cyber net security
has not come with a cost,
and what we need must consider
is all the things we’ve lost;
the face to face interaction
has dropped to second place,
and face book has put down a marker
and will no-doubt win the race.

Face book friends are welcome,
if sober or just pissed,
but who am I to question
the cyber net reality
that no-dought will persist
as the way of communicating
till the very end,
when the only friends you have will be
your face book friends.
