HOMAGE TO ZAHA. 2013.

This Mixed Media Collage is my own homage to Dame Zaha Hadid. b. 1950. Her work continues to explore the possibilities inherent in developing and expanding the Modernist legacy left by Corbusier and Gropius and follows in the footsteps of Meier and many others who kept that architectural flag flying to make it relevant to todays world. She defends her visions with unreserved tenacity and has today been awarded Riba’s royal gold medal for architecture, making her the first woman to be awarded the honour in her own right. A great lady who has forged the way for women to succeed in a male dominated profession. G
