THE END OF THE WORLD.

Occasionally we get a glimpse of the end of the world,
It looks just like the beginning of our own.

The sun comes up and promises a new start,
a new future despite all our lamentable past.
The portent of a chance
to make all things right with the world,
to rectify our mistakes,
to take away the things we did
and look forward.

Knowing in our hearts
that the guy with the sandwich board
proclaiming that
‘ the end of the world is neigh’
was quite right after all.

With every sunrise we are nearer
to our own, self made, demise.
What is left to us is but to make
the time we have left worthy
of the contribution we have made.

The end of the world may be inevitable
but we are here to make the time we have
to be a testament to the legacy we have left.

The end of the world may well happen
the beginning of a new world is in all our hands.

We are all part of the journey
The world is a fragile planet,
it needs us to support it
in its challenge to survive.
