Mixed Media on Canvas. !00 x 100 x 4 cm.

My latest canvas is various textiles and acrylic on a 100 cm square box canvas. I called it Elements due to the many seperate areas and sections of the composition fitting together. It reminded me of a quote attributed to Aristotle, ‘The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts’. a quote associated with the Gestalt school of psychology. We are all I suspect greater than the sum of our parts and despite our foibles and failings we are judged by the whole of our contribution to the betterment of mankind. From humble beginnings is borne a path towards greatness.
